Magnificent Magnificats

With fall around the corner, it’s time to gear up for the start of our new season of concert!

Magnificent Magnificats is the theme of our first concert. The Magnificat story (Luke I:46-55, the Song of Mary) has provided inspiration for many composers over many years. Our concert follows the evolution of musical settings of the Magnificat text, from the original chant to Baroque composers J.S. Bach and Heinrich Schütz to 20th-century composers Jean Berger and Arvo Pärt. The musical evolution will be highlighted by program notes and by singing the chant on which each of the compositions is based.

We will welcome members of the Lexington Philharmonic as guest artists. We hope to see you on Saturday, October 15, 7:30 p.m., at Second Presbyterian Church for Magnificent Magnificats! Tickets – Gen. Admission: $20.00, Student: $10.00 at, (859) 317-3353, or at the door.
